We’ve spent more than 30 years finding new and innovative ways to improve oral and intra-oral delivery systems. With more than 1,200 employees working across Canada, Denmark and India, we’re as determined as ever to continue with our aim. To make delivery systems that optimise the efficacy of active and functional ingredients while making it easier for people to adhere to better habits.
Now, today, we hold more than 500 patents – and counting – and we are also the world’s biggest supplier of medicated chewing gum.

Holger Sørensen founds Vejle Caramel and Tablet Factory in Vejle, Denmark
1927
The company’s first chewing gum is introduced to the market.
1978
Fertin, known for its V6 chewing gum, is acquired by the Bagger-Sørensen Group
1996
Fertin starts producing nicotine chewing gum
2000
Fertin introduces the world’s first coated nicotine chewing gum – now the industry standard
2001
Fertin Pharma A/S established as a subsidiary of Bagger-Sørensen & Co. A/S. Dandy and the brands Stimorol and V6 sold to Cadbury Schweppes (now Mondelez)
2004
FDA-approved factory opens for the US market. Our patented compressed chewing gum is launched.
2011
New R&D centre opens in Mumbai, India

Fertin establishes the Nicotine Science Center

cGMP manufacturing facility opens in Goa, India
2017
EQT Mid Market (Private Equity) acquires Fertin Pharma; Bagger-Sørensen family re-invests for 30% shareholding
